A Local Yokel went to a Finer Diner, asked for Feet Meat,

The Maitre Waiter, gave the Picky Hick the Menu to View,

And said there was great Bleat Meat, Perky Turkey,

Lick'n Chicken, Fish Dish, and Real Veal for a Meal,

But no Swine on which to Dine.

The Picky Hick,

Ordered Bleat Meat, A Ewe Stew,

Supped on a Cup,

Said, "Tastes like Glue!",

And asked for York Pork.

The Maitre Waiter Removed the Remains,

Again gave the Picky Hick the Menu to View,

And said Perky Turkey,

Lick'n Chicken,

Fish Dish,

And Real Veal for a Meal,

But no Swine on which to Dine.

The Picky Hick ordered Perky Turkey, a Dressed Breast,

Gave the Flesh a Test,

Queried, "Is this a Jest?"

And asked for a Top Chop.

The Maitre Waiter Removed the Remains,

Again gave the Picky Hick the Menu to View,

And said Lick'n Chicken,

Fish Dish,

And Real Veal for a Meal,

But no Swine on which to Dine.

The Picky Hick ordered Lick'n Chicken, a Skinned Hen,

Bent to the Scent,

Said, "This is a Sin!"

And asked for fried Pig Skin.

The Maitre Waiter Removed the Remains,

Again gave the Picky Hick the Menu to View,

And said Fish Dish,

And Real Veal for a Meal,

But no Swine on which to Dine.

The Picky Hick ordered Fish Dish, a Baked Hake,

Took a Bite of the White,

Said, "This is a Fake!"

And asked for Sow Chow.

The Maitre Waiter Removed the Remains,

Again gave the Picky Hick the Menu to View,

And said Real Veal for a Meal,

But no Swine on which to Dine.

The Picky Hick ordered Veal Meal, a Broasted Roast,

Posed a Nose,

Said, "Smells like Toast!"

And ordered Half a Ham.

The Maitre Waiter removed the Remains,

Again gave the Picky Hick the Menu to View,

And said Ham on rye, and Ham on cheese,

From the Healthy Deli,

Is the Swine on which to Dine.

The Picky Hick ordered a Ham on Rye,

Took a bite and gave a Sigh,

Said, "Now I can Die!"

And then he ordered Pie.

The Picky Hick Gypped on his Tip to the Maitre Waiter,

But Trilled as he paid his hundred dollar Bill,

"A Poke at a Pig is better than a Pig in a Poke!"
